HarperCollins India is ‘Publisher of the Year’ at Tata Lit Live 2016

HarperCollins India team must be on the dance floor after grabbing a bouquet of trophies at Tata Literature Live 2016. In fact, it is one of the high fame literature festivals in India. Among other awards is the prestigious ‘Publisher of the year award 2016’ that goes to HarperCollins India. This is a new inclusion in the awards category. That way HarperCollins India is the first recipient of this award. In addition, Arvinda Adiga’s latest book Selection Day grabs the ‘Book of the year award’ in fiction category at the Tata Literature Live. On the other hand, ‘Best First Book Award’ in the non-fiction category goes to Manu Pillai. This is for Manu’s ‘The Ivory Throne‘. Both these publications are from HarperCollins India.

The winning streak does not end here for HarperCollins India. Author Amitav Ghosh gets ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’. In fact, his latest edition of The Hungry Tide is on its way to bookstores. On the same note, legendary poet, lyricist, writer and filmmaker Gulzar grabs the Tata Literature Live Poet Laureate Award.

There were a number of books published by HarperCollins were shortlisted for the Tata Lit Live 2016 Awards. These include Fiction Book of the Year — Sarnath Banerjee’s All Quiet in Vikaspuri and Karan Mahajan’s The Association of Small Bombs; First Book Award for fiction — Tanuj Solanki’s Neon Noon and Sharanya Manivannan’s The High Priestess Never Marries; Business Book of the Year — Aparna Jain’s Own It: Leadership Lessons from Women Who Do.

These are definitely thrilling moments for the literature world. This is not only for receiving multiple recognitions but also for two more reasons. Firstly, for publishing outstanding books during this year. Secondly, for discovering great new voices. Hence, HarperCollins India must be thanking not only to their readers, for supporting them but also their authors for their faith in great writing.
