Google launches its Unified Payments Interface (UPI)-based digital payment service Google Tez today. Tez in Hindi means Fast. Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley accepting to launch it for the nation means the government acknowledges the need of it and power of Google. The app has many unique features and must be ready to provide a hassle-free experience to users. Though Google has been late in entering India’s fast-growing digital payment spectrum but then it is the features that will make it big win. Features like simple to use, high security, and user friendly interface. UPI, as we all know, is a payment mechanism by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). the Reserve Bank of India regulates it and ensures quick fund transfer between two bank accounts.
NPCI works on most of the mobile platforms. The goal of Google Tez is to get it on the action each time anyone performs a transaction through its app. It is just about sending or receiving money. In fact, the app is quite versatile and simple to use and has some fabulous features. Firstly, it lets you send money to a person in your mobile phone’s addressbook. Secondly, you can make payments to businesses both online and physically. Thirdly, it allows you to zap cash to anyone around. In fact, it happens without even disclosing both sides’ bank account numbers or personal details. As of now Tez is available on Android and iOS. When you touch Pay or Receive, the app finds other Tez users around you with. That happens with the help of Google’s proprietary technology Audio QR that works on the basis of ultrasound.
Google Tez Has Simple Interface
Simply pairing your phone with another Tez phone you can make a transaction using Google Tez. “Tez is not a chat app. But it is built like a chat app because people in developing markets like India are familiar with that paradigm”, says Sengupta.
