This is a real story of courage and determination. Every youth needs to take a learning out of the incident that challenged Clare Sultmann from Noosa to survive and walk. And she did that. In fact, it is a sheer example of woman power. She not only survived defying any chances to walk again but has also become a successful barrister. As a matter of fact, she is a wife, entrepreneur, barrister, author, and a role model. 17 years back in 2000 Clare Sultmann meets a severe accident. She was just 23 and on a regular morning jog in Sydney when a truck hit her on a pedestrian crossing. Against all odds, for all 37 minutes, the truck was standing with all its weight on her legs while Clare didn’t lose her conscious. It was no less than a miracle that she survives and decides to walk again.

Standing on My Own Two Feet is the title of the book by Clare Sultmann in 2013. Clare is a mother of three and a symbol of inspiration. After the accident in August 2000, she was in a coma for three days. Even doctors and nursing staff at St Vincent’s Hospital were not very sure if she will be able to survive. While surviving was a big question mark for this young Law student, walking on her own two feet was an almost impossible proposition. But look at the transformation. On the 17th anniversary of her accident, Clare is gifting something special to all the women of the world. It is the launch of a startup company Dear Molly and an app with the same name. The app is, in fact, a dedication to her real-life friend Melissa Formosa. Melissa and Clare are friends since the age of 12.

Clare Sultmann Is A Great Example of Courage

Clare Sultmann had to undergo around 40 surgeries and operations to get back on her feet and able to walk. That is absolutely a remarkable feat. Probably that is the reason behind the app Dear Molly. This app is only for women between the age 25-65. The app aims to help them connect with other women in their neighborhood or elswhere online to become friends and help each other by means of advice etc. In fact, Mellisa or Molly was a great source of courage during Clare’s accident. And that is what becomes the reason of the name and purpose of this app. There is an algorithm in this app that intelligently connects women with common interests and similarities.
