Bell Pepperz is a nice place for pure vegetarians. And strategically that is nice because the majority of people living in the localities around are from communities that prefer vegetarian. As long as the local penetration goes, it is in favor of the restaurant. But the way it is confusingly trying to move to add a touch of modern to its orthodox mechanism might become a point of concern soon. But let us talk about some good points first. Firstly, the food is good and tasty. By good, I mean nicely presented. Secondly, it is spread on two floors – second and third. Thirdly, ambiance and decors on the walls are attractive. And lastly, there is a small but exclusive parking for guests visiting the restaurant.
So you are lucky if you get a slot out of 8-9 available total slots. Else you will have to park your vehicle outside on the road somewhere at your own risk. There are many improvement points for Bell Pepperz. The timings are 11 am to 3.30 pm and 7 pm to 11.30 pm. When you are there during lunch timings you have to seek attention for placing an order. And if by chance you are in a relaxed mood and are there after 3.30 pm, you will have to face an army of impatient and uneasy staff members who are eagerly waiting for you to finish and leave the place as soon as possible. Now that shows a lack of training, maturity, culture, and discipline. There are bigger flaws that are more disappointing.
Bell Pepperz has mastery in Indian Food
Bakery and oven dishes at Bell Pepperz are not available during the lunch hours i.e. 11 am to 3.30. Because these start only at 7 pm. If that is the case, why not have a separate menu for lunch when you are serving only selective items. Effectively during lunch time, you can get Chinese and Indian starters, desserts and main course. Even in desserts, all dishes are not available. During lunch hours you have an option only between ice cream/kulfi and Gulab Jamun. The staff and the security person at entry/exit try their best to indicate their expectations to get some tip from you while you are leaving the place. We had to cut many items in drinks, starters, main course, and desserts because those were not available for lack of oven or chef or both.
Bell Pepperz is popular locally for small scale Kitty parties, birthday parties, family functions, and get together. So don’t be annoyed if you find a lot of noise around your table because of this. It is also veggies’ Paradise locally. But I think it can do a lot more in terms of branding, training to its staff, discipline, hospitality, availability of dishes, and courtesy it’s aiming to go beyond local. In starters we had Bell Pepperz Heavy Weight Sizzling Platter. It comes with almost all prominent Tandoor items. But if you are particular about any particular Kebabs in plenty than go for that only. Otherwise, this is a good option to taste most of those in one go.
Bell Pepperz Needs To Be More Professional
Cheese Vegan Risotto was something that we wanted to try at Bell Pepperz but it was not available. I think the restauarant should come out of these restrictions if they have to scale up in hospitality and service. Another item that was not available was Baked Button Mushroom Cheese Burst. Logically, mentioning these items in menu and then expressing inability for their availability is not a good sign. Pizza Singh Sahib also was the victim of same reason. Wish we had a chance to taste these dishes. And the same goes true for Crispy Stuffed Wantons. So by now there are four items that were not available.
There are two more to add to unavailable items at Bell Pepperz. First is Multi Vegetables Soup with Basil and Mushroom. Second was House Fruit Mojito Chunks in Mock Tails. I wonder why these two were not available. Well, now the items we had and out of those what are good to try. Masal Chaaz is good, salty, and light. In desserts, Tilla Kulfi is good to try though nothing extraordinary in this. Khasta Roti is a must try. It is crisp, hard, and tasty. Vegetable Pulao is fine in taste with a good touch of vegetables. A signature Indian dish in the main course and a must try is Bell Pepperz Spl Shyam Sawera. Masala Pappadam is good to accompany food.
Bell Pepperz Staff Needs More Training
Triple Fried Rice with a combination of Crispy Noodles, Noodles, and Rice from Oriental Rice bar at Bell Pepperz is okay but nothing special about it. Young Vegetables Stir Fried in Almond Sauce from Oriental Main Course is a good preparation and tasty. In soups Cream of Almonds with Sliced Almonds, Sweet Corn Soup with Vegetables, and Talumein soups were also fine especially the first two. In my opinion, Bell Pepperz has a specialty in Indian food and perhaps that is their mastery. Maybe I am saying this because I could not try their Italian. Oveall, a nice place for vegans. But their prices are on a little higher side. Also, someone has to ensure that their staff and Security person don’t over-gesture for a tip when the guest leaves.
